We will be holding our next BELA (Basic Expedition Leader Award) training course at Trinity Academy in Edinburgh.

There will be research to do each week after the evening sessions. After completing the course above you then have to complete at least 30 hours consolidating the leadership skills taught, usually two or three weekends under supervision and log eight day walks of minimum length of 6 hours.
The last step is to plan and complete a three day/ two night expedition where you will be tested by an Sports Leaders UK Assessor. Dates for this will be arranged once there is sufficient participants ready to run the weekend.
The cost of this training will be £100 for D of E volunteers who are currently working with groups in Edinburgh and £275 for those who are working elsewhere.
